Emily Dunsmore
Senior Manager, CareerBound
What was your first job, and what did it teach you about yourself?
My first job was as a hostess at a local pizza restaurant in my hometown. This job taught me about how to serve in a very public-facing role and the patience, communication, and empathy required to succeed. I also appreciate the interdependent nature of working in a restaurant and how each component comes together to produce a quality dining experience. Those lessons in teamwork and coordination became foundational to my work ethic.
